Roasted Tomato Pasta

This is a simple savory pasta dish that is so easy to prepare. Plus the enitre family loves it.
Preheat oven to 225 degrees. On a large jelly roll pan, place:
3 pounds plum tomatoes, cored and halved lengthwise
Sprinkle with:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
pepper to taste
Bake for 4 hours.
With about 20 minutes left for the tomatoes to cook, bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Once boiling add:
12 ounces of uncooked fettuccine
Cook for about 8 minutes or until al dente. Drain pasta and reserve 3/4 cooking liquid.
Meanwhile, in a large skillet, over low heat, add:
2 tablespoons olive oil
6 whole peeled garlic cloves
Cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove garlic and chop. Add garlic, tomatoes and cooking liquid all back to the skillet and cook for about 3-5 minutes over medium-high heat. Add cooked pasta to skillet and cook 1 more minute, tossing to combine. Remove from heat and top with:
1 cup fresh shaved Parmigiano cheese
1/4 cup torn fresh basil
