If you like peanut-butter and chocolate, you will love this version of a “rice krispy treat”. This is an easy recipe and looks complicated because of the layers of chocolate and peanut butter.

In a *double boiler, melt:

1 cup peanut butter

6 oz butterscotch chips (about 1/2 a bag)

Remove from heat and stir in:

4 cups rice krispies

Spread half the mixture into a 9×13 inch pan, by pressing lightly with fingers. Chill in refrigerator for at least 1/2 hour.

Meanwhile, in double boiler, melt:

6 oz chocolate chips (about 1/2 bag)

1 tablespoon milk

Pour chocolate mixture over cooled rice krispies. Add second half of rice krispies, pressing lightly again. Cool for about an hour, then cut and serve.

Makes 12-16 bars
